Great read

I bought multiple copies to give out as donations. Everyone Enjoyed reading ,and I enjoyed reading with my grandchildren.
This book was about a very brave little girl who learns to live with a life altering situation. She is a role model for children with diabetes .

Must read for T1D Kids

This is a wonderful and heartfelt story about a girl's Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis journey. As a mom to a child with Type 1 Diabetes, I related to everything Annie felt, both physically and emotionally.

Amazing, Informative & Uplifting!

Years ago, when my best friend's son was diagnosed with T1D, I didn't really know what they were going through or how to support them. If only D for Diabetes was available then! This beautiful, heartwarming story is chock-full of helpful information, presented through the adventures of a brave young hero. It is very well written with charming illustrations. A perfect book for all of us wanting to support family members, friends, loved ones, and school mates experiencing T1D.

Fantastic story for T1D!

This book and story topic on Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) is so important. As a Pediatric Nurse I see so many children when they are first learning of their diagnosis. The child and the family experience fear and at times misconception and lack of understanding. There is confusion with Type II Diabetes as well. Books like this for the young child and those in their lives, help them feel included and feel relevant. This story is emotionally palpable. Anyone who has experienced T1D will agree. This book has beautiful illustrations and finally excellent links and resources for further learning. Thank you to the author and illustrator. I will be sharing more copies of this book to my peers.

Annie’s and Friends Adventures

Annie’s Adventures and Friends is a great book for any kids that has just been diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. It tells a story about a nine yr old girl that has been diagnosed and how she and her family coped with her diabetes..

Very informative

After reading this book on Type 1 Diabetes, you are made aware of the responsibilities one person has in keeping track of their acceptable sugar levels. The need to stay on your diet to stay feeling good and how quickly you can feel miserable when the numbers are not in the acceptable range. Also, not everyone will understand what you are going through. This book is definitely worth reading.

Jean and Tom really captured what it’s like for a youngster, or adult …
To be diagnosed with diabetes and their trials and tribulations. The story is uplifting and informative, and the illustrations are amazing. A must read for everyone ! We all know somebody family, friend, co worker that has diabetes. There’s not a lot of information out there, especially for young ones. But this book is very engaging for young and old! Highly recommend. God bless Annie and her daily maintenance / struggles and triumphs

Perfect Fit

Thank you for your heart warning story of Annie's journey with T1D. My granddaughter was diagnosed a year ago at age 6, so this is a perfect fit. I bought extra books, so she can share them with others she meets with T1D.

Definitely a MUST read!

This book is a must read for children dealing with the diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes. Definitely a book children can connect with and go on a journey with "Annie". I'm excited to have this story in my classroom library! Looking forward to reading about the next adventure. :)

Amazing!!

This book is a true gift to children and families navigating life with T1D. The story shines a bright light on the journey children go through after a mysterious and scary diagnosis of diabetes. Thank you for the truth written about hardships at school and friendships that save the day. Can’t wait to read more about Annie. Love this book!!

Expertly written

What a wonderful book that is readable and understandable for children and adults. This book not only taught me about Type 1 Diabetes but it is written so that children will learn about Type 1 Diabetes and have a deeper understanding and empathy for anyone who has Type 1 Diabetes. I highly recommend this book and would love to see it in all classroom libraries. I can’t wait for the next book to come out!

Beautiful story for all ages !

Not only did I love this book as an adult, my 9 and 7 year olds also loved it! They learned so much from this story and they were able to relate to friends in their class with diabetes much better after reading this. It sparked such amazing conversations and they were really enthusiastic about learning even more. The pictures were beautiful as well! Highly recommend :)
